How to avoid rental scams on any app

  1. Verify the agent. Every licensed Singapore salesperson is searchable on the CEA Public Register — check the name and registration number before you transact.
  2. Never pay before viewing and signing. Deposits or "holding fees" wired before a viewing or a proper tenancy agreement are the classic scam.
  3. Use a written tenancy agreement and pay into traceable channels, never cash to a stranger.

A listing platform is a marketplace, not a guarantor — your due diligence is what keeps the deal safe.
